This was our first office in Masdar. It was also our apartment.
Mine and Robert’s workspace, living space, lab, and kitchen, all in one. Parts were arriving, cables everywhere, the usual startup mess. It was perfect.
We got our first bit of funding and decided to explore Abu Dhabi and buy some equipment. We went to Yas Mall for the first time. It was insane. So big that we couldn't find what we needed... or even the exit. Total overload, but exciting. Everything felt new.
Our apartment was right next to the airport, which felt like a dream to me. I’ve always loved planes. Watching them come and go became my evening routine. Small metal birds flying in and out, one after another. It was peaceful. That’s when it really started to hit me. I was in the UAE. I had moved. And it was all real now.
