I still remember the taste of that birthday cake. It was just me, Robert, and a few friends joining over Microsoft Teams. Simple, small. But I was happy.
Even though, deep down, I was starting to feel lost. We had just kicked off some early projects. Work was moving. But people were starting to talk more and more about some new disease, about masks, about something serious coming.
It was fun to celebrate my birthday that way. Strange, but good.
What I didn’t know was… That would be the last normal moment for a while.
